For the third quarter of 2025 of the “A Day in the Life of” campaign, we had the pleasure of interviewing Agnieszka Klimek, HR Specialist for the Asteelflash plant in Wroclaw, Polnad.
Agnieszka Klimek is the HR Specialist at the USI/ Asteelflash Global factory in Wroclaw, Poland.
Her journey in the EMS industry commenced 2.5 years ago when she joined the Asteelflash team as an HR Specialist.
Agnieszka is dedicated to fostering a supportive and positive workplace environment for all employees. Her daily responsibilities encompass the full employee lifecycle, from managing recruitment and seamless onboarding processes to ensuring that every team member is equipped with the necessary tools for their roles. She actively champions employee development by organising and coordinating essential training sessions, and she expertly handles offboarding meetings when individuals transition out of the company.
Beyond these core functions, Agnieszka oversees employee benefits, currently managing the significant transition to a new medical service provider. Annually, she plays a key role in the performance appraisal process and is instrumental in organising company events, such as the upcoming participation in the Corporate Run charity event, for which she expresses genuine enthusiasm. Her multifaceted role also includes participating in audits and serving as the site's Ethics Coordinator, diligently ensuring that all procedures, regulations, and employee documentation remain current and compliant.
Agnieszka typically begins her day by updating employee records and then proceeds to the most challenging tasks of the day. These usually involve data analysis or creative tasks where she has to find solutions independently. She believes that if you start the morning with the hardest tasks, nothing can surprise you later. Agnieszka dedicates the mid portion of her schedule to meetings and team collaboration. She usually ends the day with interviews, as candidates tend to be more available then. “I like to finish my workday by creating a plan for the next day”,- she states.
Working in HR offers a fascinating experience due to its expansive scope and the rich diversity encountered when interacting with people. Her responsibilities involve both creative and analytical tasks, requiring mental resilience, adaptability, great attention to detail, and precision.
There isn’t one specific task Agnieszka enjoys the most. It's the variety that she appreciates – being able to work with systems on one hand and with people on the other. “The best moments are when I know my work has helped an employee.”
The biggest challenge in her job is working under time pressure. It often happens that she handles several tasks at once, which can lead to mistakes. However, she believes that the only person who never makes mistakes is the one who does nothing.
One particularly memorable experience for Agnieszka in this role was the first time she successfully facilitated an internal job change for an employee. Their direct manager was not satisfied with their performance during the trial period. At the same time, a vacancy opened in a different department. She proposed that the employee switch departments, which meant a change in their career path. She took a risk with this suggestion – and it worked! The colleague changed departments, took on a new role, and began a new professional path. Knowing he is very happy with this change brings her a sense of personal HR accomplishment.
